Few people state that they’re “followers of the Devil.” In general, most people seem to be on the side of good, as opposed to evil.
Fighting for evil has a very bad stigma. Watch a Harry Potter film (or read a book). Watch Lord of the Rings. Watch, read or listen to anything. Evil isn’t popular.
So if you’re trying to follow the devil, here is a way to do it without feeling so “evil.”
Don’t call the Devil the Devil
Ignoring evil is so so so much easier if you don’t name it. Call it “normal,” “habit,” “fun,” or “tradition.” Turn your brain off. Don’t think. Just do. Unconsiously following the devil is the #1 easiest way to follow the devil.
Ignore the Details
Ever heard the famous saying, “The Devil’s in the Details?” If you want to follow the devil, be sure to ignore the details. Ignore where the money is going or where it’s coming from. Ignore the way you spend minutes of your day. Ignore the little things your family and friends say to you. If something small peaks your interest, simply repeat to yourself, “It’s no big deal.”
Your Feelings Are Everything/Nothing
If you’re trying to make it to the list of “Devil’s Top 10 Followers,” you’re going to need to really screw with your emotions. God put these in you & you’ve got to get em twisted if you hope to have any success in following the devil.
The first way of doing this is to treat your emotions like they’re everything. However you feel, do it. If you “don’t feel like it,” don’t do it. This will help you avoid the hard work of following God whenever He calls you to something you don’t “feel” like doing.
The second method requires a concerted effort: deny your emotions. Now, if you’re in touch with your emotions at all, this may be tough. You’re going to need to believe that your emotions are bad, ugly, hurtful, wrong and/or misguided. Also, the belief that emotions are weak is important to hold. Luckily, you can choose either option.
Sometimes jumping in the deep end of the “following-the-devil” pool can be difficult. Trust me on this important step: just give it a shot. Ignore your conscious just once. On something small. Don’t worry about the consequences. Make a small – seemingly insignificant – decision that you know isn’t what God has for you. Blatantly roll over the Holy Spirit’s promptings. Do this a little bit and a lot will soon be very possible.
